In 2023, I lost my mother to stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and that experience forever changed my life. My mother had a heart for helping others, and I strive to carry that same spirit forward by raising awareness about pancreatic cancer and encouraging people to advocate for their health and listen to their bodies.
For years, my mother knew something wasn’t right, but her symptoms were repeatedly dismissed as complications related to diabetes. By the time doctors discovered the cancer, it had already advanced to stage 4. Losing her so suddenly showed me the importance of resilience, the strength of family, and the urgent need for greater awareness, earlier detection, and better advocacy for patients whose concerns deserve to be heard.
